Acidophilus Reviews – Live Culture Count

The absolute first thing I look for in any type of acidophilus is something called the “live culture” count. You might find labels that say something similar to this, but what this simply means is the measure and the amount of active, live and working amounts of acidophilus (good bacteria) in that supplement. In my experience, these are the various amounts I have ever seen:

* 100 Million
* 1 Billion
* 10 Billion

The amount of acidophilus and beneficial bacteria in the supplement you are about to buy is HUGE and should be one of the most important factors you use in your decision of whether or not the supplement is right for you or not. In my experience, if the acidophilus has 100 million live cultures inside of it, I don’t notice any difference if I only take one pill.

I begin to start noticing the effects of acidophilus if I consume about 1 billion live and active cultures, and sometimes I like to take more then this in a day. Ideally, I aim to find a supplement that contains 1 billion cultures per pill and then I take 2-3 pills per day generally in the morning, afternoon and at night.

Take note of how many cultures are in your acidophilus as I have seen companies who offer 100 million cultures per pill sell their products at higher prices then those that offer 1 billion or higher per pill. Usually most “super market” brands will offer products in the 100 million range so be careful and stay away from them unless you want to waste your money.

The Best Way To Take Acidophilus

The kind and type of acidophilus as well as the best way to take it is going to be in a form that is easily digested and able to reach into your intestines without being destroyed by stomach acids. You can find acidophilus in various forms that range from liquids to pills and even to being included in such things as yogurts.

Personally, I like Acidophilus Pearls because their acidophilus is contained within a “pearl” that acts to shield and protect the sensitive bacterial cultures from your stomach acids. This means that you are getting the maximum amount of the product straight into your intestines where it must be in order to work.

I haven’t had much luck or success with liquid acidophilus or even the yogurts that contain acidophilus. I’ve talked to other people who have and continue to have great success with those two things but they just don’t seem to work for me.

How many active and/or live cultures does the product contain?
What form is the acidophilus in? Is it in capsule, liquid or even yogurt form?
Is the acidophilus itself protected by the container it is in, such as with acidophilus pearls?
When researching other reviews online, such as from Amazon, what do the other people who have tried it for themselves have to say about it?

These should all be the main points of interest for you to consider. If you try one type of acidophilus and it doesn’t work for you, then don’t be discouraged as you may just need to experiment with different types until you find the one that works best for you and your body. The key is also in consistency. If you want acidophilus to work for you, then you have to make sure you are taking it often. I always take acidophilus at least 2-3 times per day to get and extract the maximum benefit from it. Don’t be afraid to read all sorts of probiotic acidophilus reviews in order to find which product you believe will work the best for you.
